Cloud synchronization is a Premium feature in Billance. It lets you sync your encrypted data across multiple devices.
Supported Providers
Depending on your platform, you can connect one of these providers:
- iCloud
- OneDrive
- Google Drive
- Dropbox
- WebDAV
How Setup Works
Go to Settings → Cloud Synchronization and start the setup dialog.
The process is:
- Select a provider
- Complete sign-in or authorization with the cloud service
- For WebDAV, also enter server URL, username, password, and optionally a root path
- Check whether Billance data already exists in the cloud
- Choose an initial sync strategy if needed
Initial Sync Strategy on First Connect
If Billance data already exists in the cloud, Billance asks how it should proceed:
- Merge: Local and remote data are merged
- Replace local: Cloud data overwrites your local data
- Replace cloud: Your local state is uploaded to the cloud
What You Can Control After Connecting
Once connected, you can manage options such as:
- Sync now
- Sync on startup and sync on quit
- Synchronization interval
- Which areas should be synchronized: company profiles, internal contacts, recipients, products, invoices, templates, profile settings, and payment accounts
- A storage overview with a breakdown by profile and data type
- Disconnecting the provider or deleting cloud content completely or by area
Security
- Billance synchronizes encrypted data
- Your cloud provider does not see the business contents of your database
- When disconnecting, your local data stays intact
- If you want, you can also delete Billance data from the cloud while disconnecting
Important Notes
- The app remains fully usable offline; synchronization continues later
- The initial sync may take longer depending on the amount of data
- If your Premium access expires, the connection remains visible, but synchronization is paused
- With WebDAV, Billance can also show the connected server and path details afterwards
