Yes. The download is free and the base version stays free forever: create unlimited standard invoices, validate e-invoices without limit and generate one XRechnung or ZUGFeRD e-invoice every 30 days. Premium adds payment reminders, DATEV export, validation reports, OCR and cloud sync.

Billance is available as desktop software for Windows 10/11 (x64 and ARM64), macOS 13 and newer (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Linux (AppImage, Snap, Flathub — x64 and ARM64), plus mobile apps for Android, iPhone and iPad.

Only for the initial sign-in and then briefly about every 30 days for the license check. Writing invoices, capturing receipts and managing documents works entirely offline.

Billance produces e-invoices to EN 16931 in the XRechnung and ZUGFeRD formats and checks them against the formal rules of the standard. Proper retention and process documentation remain part of your own business procedures.

On Windows you run the downloaded installer or install via the Microsoft Store. On macOS you drag the app out of the .dmg file into your Applications folder. On Linux you make the AppImage executable or install via Snap or Flathub.

By default exclusively in a local encrypted database on your device. Only when you enable cloud sync is data additionally backed up end-to-end encrypted — switchable and GDPR-compliant.
