Design your invoice layout yourself: logo, fonts, colors, line item table and footer in the Billance document designer.

Instructions for the Billance desktop app on Windows, macOS and Linux.

The document designer controls which elements a document contains, where they appear, and how they look. Design templates are used for invoices and the other supported document types.

Template overview

You can search, open, duplicate, rename, delete, and set templates as default. System designs remain usable on the Free plan; custom designs, duplication, deletion, and use of non-system templates are Premium features.

Design options

Depending on the element, you can edit items such as:

  • Position, size, visibility, lock state, and page placement
  • Font, alignment, line spacing, and opacity
  • Design or custom colors, background, and border
  • Table layout, columns, totals, payment information, and page footer
  • Images, QR codes, dividers, shapes, and signatures

Grid, measurements, fold and punch marks, and DIN 5008 overlays help with alignment. Warnings indicate missing content or critical regions.

Desktop app

Using the desktop app

The advanced designer is split into an element list on the left, an A4 workspace in the center, and properties on the right. Add elements from the palette and select, move, or resize them directly on the canvas. Preview shows the document without editing frames, and Save stores the changes.

Check the output

Use the document-specific preview before saving. Check multi-page documents, long line-item tables, optional elements, and both light and dark app appearance; the generated PDF itself uses the configured document colors.
