Order Confirmations & Delivery Notes

Create order confirmations and delivery notes in Billance, link them and turn them into an invoice.

Instructions for the Billance desktop app on Windows, macOS and Linux.

An order confirmation confirms an accepted order. A delivery note documents delivered goods or services. Both are advanced Premium document types and are fully supported in Electron and iOS.

Order confirmation

Enter the recipient, line items, order value, and texts. You can optionally add an offer reference, expected delivery date, and service period. Finalizing fixes the number from the order-confirmation number range and changes the status to Sent. Completed and Cancelled are then available.

Delivery note

A delivery note requires a delivery date before finalization. An alternate delivery address is optional. Show prices controls unit prices and line totals; taxes and payment information are not printed. Finalizing fixes the delivery-note number and sets the status to Shipped. Delivered and Cancelled are then available.

Convert documents

Supported chains include:

  • Offer → order confirmation, delivery note, or invoice
  • Order confirmation → delivery note or invoice
  • Delivery note → invoice
  • Invoice → delivery note

Data is transferred into a new draft and linked as predecessor/successor. An existing active successor of the same type is opened instead of creating a duplicate.

Desktop app

Using the desktop app

Choose the type from New or + in the document tab bar. Status, conversion, and further actions are in the header menu and document manager's right-click menu. Edit number ranges under Settings → Number Ranges.

Templates and output

Both types have dedicated document, text, and design templates. Text variables are resolved for the document type. Output is PDF or JSON, not an e-invoice or XML.
